
Third week of Japan 2019 Tour
I am so looking forward to my first visit to Japan, to sing and watch some rugby in October.
I’m being very kindly hosted by Lauri Palmu, a good friend of many Finnish friends of ours in Kobe, the home of wagyu beef and Dan Carter! See what I did there?!

28-31 October
Continuing my tour around Japan with my life-long German friend Gerd and his family and my last day with host Lauri.

Monday 28 October
Takayama mountains in Gifu west of Tokyo.
Known as a Ski area, maple leaves are in colour in late Oct, autumn.

Tuesday 29 October
Kanazawa on west coast – spared WW2 bombing.

Wednesday 30 October
Nagoya – serve Norwegian mission family in school and pre-school work.

Thursday 31 October
Return to Kobe.
Friday 1 November
Last day with host Lauri.
Saturday 2 November
Travel to Tokyo and possibly attend rugby final in the evening in Yokohama.
Sunday 3 November
Open in Tokyo area.
Monday 4 November
The kiwi flies home… Departing from Tokyo to NZ.

Then attend quarterfinal evening (South Africa v Wales game)

Hiroshima – overnight to visit to peace museum and memorials.
My father was a peacekeeper there in 1946 with the NZ army called ‘J force’, and he was hugely impacted by the aftermath of the bomb, and the incredible resilience of the people to rebuild…

Train to Yokohama attend quarter-final (NZ v Ireland Rugby World Cup game)
Sunday 20 October
Sing in communion at Grace City Church Tokyo 2pm service, USA missionary family hosting, pm me if you need the address?
Then attend quarterfinal evening (South Africa v Japan game)
